Rain Jar
A downloadable game for Windows
Rain Jar is a very small idle game.
A jar fills with rain. Spend the water on upgrades that make it rain faster, make the jar bigger, or both. When the upgrades stop being affordable, evaporate the jar for clouds: a permanent bonus that makes every future run faster. Spend them in the cloud shop on upgrades you never lose, like a deeper barrel.
Keep an eye on the sky: now and then a golden drop falls. Click it before it lands for a burst of rain. Every so often a whole golden storm comes through. Missing one costs nothing.
It keeps raining while the game is closed, for up to 12 hours.
This is my first game. I'm a designer, not a programmer, and I made it with an AI coding assistant (Claude) to learn Unity, C# and how idle games work under the hood. The code and the art were generated with its help. The design decisions and the testing are mine. It's small on purpose. I'd genuinely like to hear what's wrong with it: pacing, balance, bugs, anything. Comments are open.
How to play: click an upgrade when you can afford it. Evaporate asks for a second click, so you can't reset by accident. Esc pauses; the pause menu has Quit.
Starting over: main menu → New game.
Version 0.4.0 · Windows · Made with Unity
It's free. There's a donate button if you enjoyed it, but honestly a comment telling me what's wrong with it is worth more to me than the money.
